The Site Analysis allowed for a greater understanding of how the site functions, what the features might be and what can be improved. It also provides a good understanding of where the building could be located.

Week 4. A1 Posters

I have complete the Posters. I feel they show the design in a way that doesn't over power it and yet compliments the design. You can also see Liams detailed Renders.

Week 3. Folie - Isolation Of Primary Elements

I felt it was a good idea to now Identify the Critical Matters of the Folie.
The Glass Platform became the Action Layer, The Shadows I feel make up the Rule Layer (providing a different set of rules on how to use the space at every different time of the day, month or year) and the Steel Supports make up the Support Layer; providing strength to the structure, linking it with the site and bringing all pieces togeather.

Week 2 - B. Foli Development

A size study, The Foli needs to fit within a 5x5x5m area. Through this we have established that the Foli can be two storeys high. Having the ability to expand the structure over two levels allows us to play with the site context a lot more, and enables a much richer function or experience.

We began playing with the idea of glass, our main goal being the use of light and learning through the experiences it can provide. Having different platforms of only glass suspended over an area that are accessed through the cliff face itself.

We have now established a main idea of glass platform extending over the site, held up by an entanglement of metal. This structure is sheltered by sheeting that has an educational cut out and will be projected by the sun onto the existing ground. It is a take from the story bridge, an eagerness to learn, climb, be sheltered, experience views and excite the sensors.
